Architect of our Great Constitution

Harbinger of the Democratic Institution

Benefactor of the oppressed classes

Battled for the rights of the masses!

At a time when divisions were deep

When the deprived had only to weep

Came on the Indian scene a great leader

To fight for them as a socio-political reformer!

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar an illustrious son

Born on the 14^th of April 1891, the Greatest Indian

Built himself up on a solid foundation of education

Rose to become the first Law Minister of the Nation!

Having to spend life time fighting social discrimination

Had to equip himself with education to sharpen his pen

To arouse the conscience of the oppressors and defeatist

And to uplift the under-privileged from the social pit!

Fondly called the Babasaheb, he was an Indian Jurist

Philosopher, thinker, political leader, Buddhist activist

Historian, prolific writer, great orator, an economist

Scholar, Social Editor, Revolutionary and a revivalist!

A solemn anecdote in his life, everyone please note

Though Desirous of learning Sanskrit, he couldn’t*

In the midst of social fanaticism, Prabhakar Joshi

Vedic Scholar penned Bhimyan in Sanskrit to honor the deity!

Salute to the most memorable leader of the Nation!

Salute to the brave warrior who fought for the downtrodden!

Salute to the real Bharat Ratna of the Indian Constitution!

Salute to the soul who laid great emphasis on education!

* Having come to know much later that as a child Ambedkar was denied permission to learn Sanskrit (as per his father's wish), vedic scholar Prabhakar Joshi, at 84 with failing eye sight and fighting glaucoma, compiled a hymn titled BHIMYAN in sanskrit comprising 1577 slokas, as an atonement for the injustice meted out to the young Bhimrao.
